Hole 4

This hole is stroke index 1 and from the moment you step on to the tee it is easy to see why. For the low handicappers this is an uncompromising driving hole.

There is an out of bounds down the left and bunkers and shrubberies down the right, with only a narrow landing zone in between. A draw shot aimed on the right hand fairway bunker offers the best possibilities of success, but you will still need a bit of luck to find good position. Even from here a fairway wood will probably be needed for the second shot. Shorter hitters will normally be looking to reach the green in three on this hole and therefore should not aim to be too ambitious.

A straight drive, followed by a positional shot into the left hand side of the fairway should open up a good line for the approach. Another two tier green, sloping steeply from back to front.
