An exposed and intimidating par 3, generally played into the wind. The main difficulty of this hole lies in its length, requiring anything from a 3 iron to a 3 wood, even for good hitters.
A steep slope in front of the putting surface also ensures that anything short will roll 30 metres back down the fairway. For these reasons, most problems at this hole arise from players trying to overhit. Club selection is therefore crucial for the low handicapper.
High handicappers are advised to exercise caution, and possibly even think about playing to be on the green in two. If you are going to stray off line, it is better to do so on the right: the rough down the left hand side is deep and thick.
